Jerusalem
The city of Shalem
Jerusalem
My Yerushalayim
O’ Holy city,
Holiest of all
The land where Lord
on the Mount of Olives
I am saddened to behold
Cut off the land from the living
You finished the transgression
And sealed up the vision
O, beautiful Ir ha-Kodesh
The land of my fathers
The burning sun,the Calvary, the ululation
no master wordsmith
could capture in verbal form,
no painter could accurately paint
on canvas with oil colors so vivid
and glorious as its past.
