The penumbral eclipse of my heart
Moving through the outer part
of my soul’s shadow
I catch my umbra taking a bite
out of the only luminous part of the soul
The dark bite grows larger
then receding but never reaching
the total phase of unhappiness
refraction of glass now half-empty
Such dramatic subtlety of disintegration
Feelings that never came to fruition
only a dark shading on my face nobody will see
this imperceptible penumbral eclipse of my heart
