What a beautiful way to start my day! I awoke to an email this morning from Silver Birch Press to inform me that my poem is now running. Thank you all for your support and love! Have a beautiful day! Here in Greece, it is still warm and sunny so I am not really in the mood to get down to some honest-to-goodness work! However, September is almost here and about time for a U-ey in attitudes.
Cheers,
Sofia
Cry me a river
by Sofia Kioroglou
I spread my palm in valediction,
memories of my childhood packed in boxes
tissues handy and dark sunglasses to hide my puffed-up eyes
a flood of feelings I can’t contain
I cry a river as my dad takes us to Maroussi
Two jobs and a hefty deposit on a better future
What good is complaining?
I am too young to understand
