I am so excited my poem “Jarring Disjuncture” is included in the March 2016 Issue of Ashvamegh!This month is full of good poetry. The world has celebrated international women’s day on 8th of March. Having that in mind, the focus of this issue is on the writings of women poets mostly from across the globe! “Jarring disjuncture”by Sofia Kioroglou

As wide asunder from pole to pole
My Eastern and your Western
in jarring disjuncture I am breaking
laying to rest the yawning divide.

East is East and West is West
and never the twain shall meet.
In dissonant chords and yodeling voices
My North I cede to your South.

The ice is cracked open
melting our hemispheres’ differences
into oblivion, engulfed eternally
in an ocean of seamless convergence.

    πολύ χαίρομαι για τις διακρίσεις σου.

    Όμορφο ποίημα, με βαθύ περιεχόμενο.
    Οι διαφορές Ανατολής και Δύσης δείχνουν αγεφύρωτες, σαν χάσμα (αν κατάλαβα σωστά το νόημα).

    Καλή και ευλογημένη Σαρακοστή να έχουμε, καλό αγώνα…

    1. Thank you kindly my friend! Hope you are well and smiling! The weather here has mellowed a bit.March surely came in like a lion with all these storms and low temperatures. I hope the sunshine keeps up. What is the weather like in your part of the world? Always thinking of you and praying Thomas!

      1. You are welcome, my friend! I am well, just busy and tired. Happy to hear the weather has mellowed where you are. We had a taste of spring but thee past few days have witnessed much snow. In between we have seen some sun but temperatures are still low. Thank you for your thoughts an prayers, Sofia. I think of you often and also keep you in my prayers. Have a blessed week 🙂
